El pasado jueves 19 de junio, se realizó en el colegio el acto del Día de la Bandera Nacional Argentina, organizado por el Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras.

En el transcurso del acto fue interpretada la canción “Laray, Mi Bandera” por una alumna de 2do año, por su parte, dos alumnos de 6to año acompañaron tocando guitarra y el bombo legüero.

¿Por qué se conmemora este día? El 20 de junio se conmemora el Día de la Bandera, una fecha que rinde homenaje a Manuel Belgrano, creador de la insignia patria. Este día coincide con el aniversario de su fallecimiento, ocurrido el 20 de junio de 1820. También el día 17 de junio se recuerda a Güemes por su valioso aporte a la independencia argentina.

Last Thursday, June 19th, the ceremony for the National Flag Day of Argentina was held at the school. It was organized by the Foreign Languages Department. During the ceremony, the song “Laray, Mi Bandera” was performed by a second‑year female student, accompanied by two sixth‑year students who played the guitar and the bombo legüero.

Why is this day commemorated? National Flag Day is observed on June 20th to honor Manuel Belgrano, the creator of Argentina’s national emblem. This date coincides with the anniversary of his death, which occurred on June 20th, 1820. Also on June 17, Güemes is remembered for his valuable contribution to Argentine independence.
